Established in 1992, Livingstone Island offers a unique experience of picnicking on the edge of Victoria Falls. With a maximum of 16 visitors at a time, the protected area ensures the preservation of the natural habitat. Only a single operator has been licensed to conduct tours to Livingstone Island and the Devil’s swimming pool.
It is crucial to note that choosing an unlicensed guide for this activity is highly discouraged. Incidents of accidents resulting in negative publicity have occurred, and numerous guides offer this activity. For a memorable experience and safety, always select a licensed operator.
Before embarking on the tour, ensure you have your passport, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and swimming costume. Wear suitable footwear like waterproof boat shoes or slip-on with a good grip as the rocks can be slippery and sharp. It is advisable to bring a small backpack to change on the island.
